What is Swing

You have probably heard this word a thousand times, the sound of which immediately suggests a particular energy and balance. But what exactly is it? Music? Dance? A way to feel?

It appeared in the late 1920s in the United States and became popular over the next decade. It is a style of jazz that has brought important innovations. It is characterized by syncopated rhythms and a lot of improvisation. Swing is a genre that gives the musician the freedom to create a personal sound and style based on their emotions and their ability to express them through an instrument. Notable musicians included Duke Ellington, Count Basie and Benny Goodman.
